Ecover is the world’s leading manufacturer of ecological cleaning products, founded in 1980 in Belgium the company has over 40 years' experience in ecological cleaning using innovative formulas to tackle the toughest cleaning problems.
A trendsetter from the very start, Ecover as a pioneering company, marketed a phosphate-free washing powder even before phosphates were branded as a problem.
Having developed into the world’s largest producer of ecological detergents and cleansing products, with the company’s head office in Belgium, Ecover has sites in the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and its products are marketed in more than 20 countries.
Ecover is the UK’s and worlds biggest selling ecological cleaning brand and the products it sells demonstrate Ecover’s progressive environmental policy across all departments of the company, from production to marketing.
Ecover develops and produces its products in the world’s first ecological factory built in 1992 from recycled and recyclable materials. It is energy efficient, recycles its water, produces almost no waste and has a grass roof extending over more than 6000 m2 which supports a wild flower garden and effectively insulates the Ecover factory, drawing more than a thousand visitors every year.
Ecover has received awards and recognition for its special contributions and achievements in the field of environmentally sound, sustainable development, including being named to the Global 500 Roll of Honour of the United Nations Environment Program, which was awarded to Ecover in 1993.
