About The Company

In 1954, Scot Young started a window and floor cleaning business in Toronto, Canada before returning to the UK to open the first branch in Glasgow and Manchester with expansion following in London. After 30 years, it began manufacturing and new products were introduced. 48 patents and 780 inter-connected innovations give SYR a head and shoulders lead throughout the World.

Within fifteen years SYR’s Innovation, Invention and Development proceeded at such a rate that today sees three Manufacturing Bases in Great Britain USA and China, all with identical Tooling, Assembly Facilities and Warehousing and a mutual interflow of technological innovation and development.

The Philosophy

Dedicated to helping cleaning organisations, the SYR International Cleaning Centre is a 5,000 sq ft facility put together and used primarily as a Training and Education Centre for all aspects of cleaning. It holds areas for display, demonstration and an information hall.

SYR won The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: Innovation in 2002, mainly due to its renowned Interchange System. The Award for Innovation recognises outstanding performance in design, production, marketing and distribution of goods and services. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are undoubtedly recognised as the most prestigious accolades in today’s global business arena and to be granted a Queen’s Award is to be acknowledged as one of the best in your field, something which Scot Young Research Ltd is extremely proud of.
