Easy Steps to Control Health Risks From Chemicals – Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

Did you know the Health & Safety Executives website provides practical advice and Guidance on the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations? You can find information on what the law requires, advice on completing COSHH assessments and a handy e-tool to help you carry out assessments.

COSHH Essentials provides advice on controlling the use of chemicals for a range of common tasks and sets out basic advice on what to do to control exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. It takes the form of straightforward advice in ‘factsheets’ called ‘control guidance sheets’. There are two types of sheets, industry-specific ‘direct advice sheets’ and ‘generic control guidance sheets’.

The handy e-tool provided prompts you through a number of steps. It asks you for information about your tasks and chemicals and to enter some basic information about the substance you are using before directing you to the most appropriate control guidance sheet.

Futures Supplies Support The Fight Against Dementia

Futures Supplies is delighted to sponsor ‘Forget Me Not Coffee Mornings’ throughout 2016 as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.

Some 500,000 people in the UK have dementia and by 2020 it is expected this will rise to as many as 1 million people. Raising awareness to ensure people with dementia feel included and valued in society is crucial, especially at a local level.

The aim of ‘Forget Me Not Coffee Mornings’ is to bring the local community together to support those who suffer with dementia, along with their family and carers.

The coffee mornings help provide information and support and provide an opportunity for sharing experiences along with practical advice and we are delighted to support such a worthy cause.

More than 300 companies attended the Croydon Business Excellence Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday, October 1st to hear the best of the best announced.

Metsä Launch New Katrin Dispenser Range

Futures Supplies are delighted to bring you the new Katrin Range of Dispensers launched by Metsä Tissue for the workplace and beyond.

This new range takes into account the needs of a wide selection of users and of course includes children, the elderly and those who are visually impaired or have physical disabilities.

With Katrin Inclusive Dispensers, the paper is easy to remove, and can be pulled out with one hand. Contrasting colours make the dispenser openings easy to see. Large “push faces” are effortless to use, and braille text also helps the visually impaired.

Dispensers that open upwards make it much easier for people of all heights to fill and simple graphical signage shows how they should be used and maintained. All of the dispensers are easy to disassemble and are made from durable ABS and polypropylene plastic, both of which are totally reusable.

Innovative Biotech Toilet Roll Delivers Savings

Biotech is the innovative biological toilet paper that saves time, money and the environment.

Croydon Chamber BBQ

The senior management team were delighted to meet with key customers and network with over 50 local companies at the Croydon Chamber Summer BBQ last night.

It was a fabulous setting at Farleigh Golf Club where we were treated to a welcome drink of on arrival and a delicious barbeque in the glorious summer evening sunshine.

Futures Supplies were also delighted to pick up not one but two of the raffle prizes on offer.

The company has been a member of the Croydon Chamber for almost 20 years and our CEO Mandie Kemp remains a Chamber Ambassador committed to supporting other local business.
